MISKITOS IN DESPAIR

Over 1,400 miskitos that lived in the communitie of Siksayari, located on the shores of Coco River in the North Atlantic Coast have been evacuated to more secure areas by the army with the help of british military personnel.

It was established that houses in Siksayari and other communities were run down by the hurricaine. Rivers overflooded endangered the lives of the miskitos living in the communities of Adretera and Waspan where the water level went up to 50 meters.
